Privacy Policy

This policy explains what VIRPrep collects, why, and what you can ask us to do with it. We don't sell your information and we don't show ads.

1. What we collect

• Account details: your name and email, and anything you tell us when you request access (such as your credential and why you're studying). Your password is stored only as a one-way hash; we can't read it.
• Study data: the questions you answer, the option you chose and whether it was right, your review schedule, scores, streak, bookmarks and mock exam history, so your progress follows you between devices.
• Sign-in and device information: the IP address and browser/device type of each signed-in device, sign-in times, and a log of account activity (such as sign-ins and purchases).
• Messages you send us: question reports, feedback and emails to support.
• Purchases: what you bought, when, the amount, and the referral code you arrived with, if any. Payments are handled by Stripe; your card details go to Stripe and never reach our servers.

2. How we use it

• to run your account, save your progress, and show you your results;
• to send account emails: access approval, password links, receipts and reminders before your access ends;
• to fix and improve questions you report, and to improve VIRPrep overall;
• to protect our content and members, as described in our Terms of Use: limiting the number of signed-in devices, spotting shared accounts or automated access, and tracing copied content. Questions shown to you carry an invisible marker tied to your account, so text copied from VIRPrep can be traced back to the account it came from.

3. Who we share it with

Only the services that run VIRPrep for us, and only what each one needs:

• our hosting and database provider, which stores the data above;
• Stripe, which processes payments;
• our email provider, which delivers account emails;
• Google Fonts, which serves the site's fonts (your browser requests them directly, which shares your IP address with Google);
• a partner whose referral code you used sees that a purchase was made with their code, not your study data.

We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to enforce our Terms.

4. Your browser

VIRPrep stores your sign-in token, settings and a copy of your progress in your browser's local storage so the app works quickly and offline. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies or third-party analytics. Signing out removes your sign-in token from that browser.

5. How long we keep it

• Your account and study data are kept while your account exists, including after access ends, so your progress is there if you come back.
• A signed-in device that hasn't been used for 45 days is forgotten.
• If your account is deleted, your study data, devices and activity log are deleted with it. Question reports you sent are kept without your name, and purchase records (date, amount, email) are kept for accounting and tax purposes.

6. Your choices

Email support@virprep.com to get a copy of your data, correct it, or delete your account. We'll respond within 30 days. You can change your password at any time with "Set or reset password" on the sign-in screen.

7. Security

Connections to VIRPrep are encrypted, passwords are hashed, and access to the admin tools is restricted. No service is perfectly secure; if we learn of a breach that affects you, we'll tell you.

8. Children

VIRPrep is for radiologic technologists and students preparing for professional exams. It isn't directed at children under 16, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we'll let you know by email or in the app.
